What was your first job as a journalist?
A news reader for Peak FM - a small radio station in north Derbyshire.
What's your favorite social network?
Instagram - it feels like the only place left where hate isn’t spewed at every turn!
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Not a news paper - but I worked on my uni’s radio station Fly FM as a presenter.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
When I was a TV producer, it was on the Shamima Begum story about her citizenship revocation. It was a great team effort in the newsroom.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Work hard, learn as many newsroom skills as possible and take your chances. Everyone was new at some point!
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime - but if the pitch isn’t for me I likely won’t reply - sorry!
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Empire! But I also love reading BuzzFeed, NY Times and Rugby World.
