Michael Condon’s Biography

Michael produces film and video. He was part of Global Post's team of video journalists and producers who won a 2011 Peabody award and 2011 and 2012 Edward R. Murrow awards for their work on globalpost.com's "On Location" video series.

After working as a newspaper reporter for Fairfax and Australian Provincial Newspapers in Australia he went on to work at the International Herald Tribune/Asahi Shimbun in Tokyo. More recently he has worked as a freelance video journalist and producer for The Guardian newspaper and Global Post. His work has been syndicated to PBS Newshour.

During his time working in video he has produced reports and short-form documentaries covering the bombing of Yeongpyeong Island by North Korea, North Korean defections to South Korea and the 2011 tsunami and nuclear disaster in Japan.

Prior to this he was editor-in-chief of business mag J@pan Inc Magazine in Tokyo.

He graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in history and journalism.
