He was formerly a Middle Correspondent based in Beirut. He covered the Syrian civil war, the rise and fall of ISIS, the Kurdish fight for autonomy, an attempted coup in Turkey, climate change in Iraq, and upheaval and protest in Lebanon, reporting from conflict zones across the region.
Since arriving in the U.S. in 2020, he has reported from across the country, hitting the road to cover human stories of protest, politics, civil rights, extremism, and Americana. During that time, he led in-depth investigations into the Biden administration’s role in Gaza’s famine, torture at Guantanamo Bay, violence at Waffle Houses and sex trafficking at low-budget hotel chains. He has yet to be corrected on his tenuous claim to have been the only reporter at both the infamous Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference and the attack on the US Capitol.
