Introduction The diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), first termed by Hakim and Adams (1965), requires supportive evidence from clinical history, physical examination and brain imaging (Schirinzi et al., 2015). It is characterized by the clinical triad of gait disturbance, mental deterioration and urinary incontinence, along with the enlargement of the cerebral ventricles (Relkin et al., 2005).
