Common Radiological Features on Chest X‐Rays of Infants With Bronchiolitis: Do They Support Management?
Bronchiolitis is a viral respiratory tract infection among infants commonly caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and is a leading cause of hospital admission among infants. The United Kingdom (UK) guidance recommends against ‘routinely performing chest x-rays (CXRs) in children with bronchiolitis as changes on chest radiographs can mimic pneumonia’ but should be considered if intensive care is being proposed. The quality of evidence supporting this statement is low [1].

A single oral dose of fluralaner (Bravecto®) in dogs rapidly kills 100% of blood‐fed Phlebotomus perniciosus, a main visceral leishmaniasis vector, for at least 1 month after treatment
Abstract Dogs are the reservoir host of zoonotic visceral leishmaniasis (VL) caused by Leishmania infantum (Kinetoplastida: Trypanosomatidae). Both subclinically‐infected and sick animals can be infectious to competent phlebotomine vectors. The degree and duration of insecticidal efficacy of an oral dose of fluralaner (Bravecto®; Merck Animal Health) was determined in dogs exposed to bites of Phlebotomus perniciosus (Diptera: Psychodidae), a main Mediterranean vector of VL.
Induced membrane technique for treating tibial defects gives mixed results
Segmental bone defects are difficult to reconstruct.1 Bone grafting alone is associated with uncontrollable graft resorption,2 even when the recipient site is well vascularised.3 Historically, such defects have been associated with a high rate of amputation.4 The most common methods of treating a segmental bone defect are either with the use of a vascularised fibular autograft or by bone transport using the Ilizarov technique.5,6 Although vascularised fibular autografts have distinct benefits...

Induced membrane technique for treating tibial defects gives mixed results
Abstract Aims This study describes the use of the Masquelet technique to treat segmental tibial bone loss in 12 patients. Patients and Methods This retrospective case series reviewed 12 patients treated between 2010 and 2015 to determine their clinical outcome. Patients were mostly male with a mean age of 36 years (16 to 62). The outcomes recorded included union, infection and amputation. The mean follow-up was 675 days (403 to 952). Results The mean tibial defect measured 5.8 cm (2 to 15) in length.
