Summary Psoriasis is a common skin disease affecting approximately 5‐10 percent of people in the Nordic countries, and more than 125 million people worldwide. The disease has been associated with low treatment adherence, meaning people don't stick with their treatment, and unhealthy lifestyle (e.g. smoking, alcohol consumption, decreased physical activity) and, in turn, cardiometabolic disease.

Increased risk of depression in patients with lupus erythematosus
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease, meaning the body's immune system works against the body instead of protecting it. Systemic lupus may not only involve the skin but also internal organs such as lungs, heart, and kidneys, and is potentially a fatal disease, whereas cutaneous lupus is mainly restricted to the skin. It affects women more often than men and symptoms usually first appear when patients are aged in their 30s.

The good, the bad and the malignant
Compared with conventional systemic treatment modalities such as methotrexate, the superior efficacy and absence of cumulative toxicity have led to a widespread uptake and use of biologics for treatment of psoriasis and a number of other chronic inflammatory diseases. As with any therapy intended for long‐term use, efficacy and safety must be carefully balanced when choosing the most appropriate drug for the individual patient.

Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition usually localised in the central part of the face. It is characterised by areas of intermittent or persistent redness, small and superficial dilated blood vessels, small red spots and bumps and some people experience eye symptoms such as dryness, irritation and swollen red eyelids. Rosacea can affect both men and women of all ages, but is most common among fair‐skinned women over the age of 30.

Safety, efficacy, and drug survival of biologics and biosimilars for moderate‐to‐severe plaque psoriasis
Summary Psoriasis, a common disease affecting 2‐3% of the world's population, may in moderate‐to‐severe cases require systemic treatment with biological drugs (biologics). Treatment is usually permanent, but these drugs may loose their effect over time. When the patent for the original (originator) drug expires, other companies can produce a biosimilar, i.e. a drug that is very similar (but not completely identical, since biologics are derived from living human genes) to the originator.

Incidence and prevalence of rosacea: a systematic review and meta‐analysis
The global prevalence and incidence of rosacea remain unknown, and no systematic review or meta‐analysis of published data has yet been performed. We therefore performed a systematic review of the published literature to examine these parameters. We examined the prevalence both in the general population and among dermatological patients to understand better the absolute burden of this condition.

Psoriasis and risk of malignant lymphoma: A population-based cohort study
AbstractIn patients with psoriasis, the risk of lymphoma has been a subject of controversy and data from larger studies are limited1-4. We therefore investigated the 5-year risk of new-onset Hodgkin lymphoma (HL), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) (excluding cutaneous T-cell lymphoma [CTCL]), and CTCL, respectively, in patients with psoriasis. This article is protected by copyright. Poor agreement in questionnaire‐based diagnostic criteria for adult atopic dermatitis is a challenge when examining cardiovascular comorbidity
The association between atopic dermatitis (AD) and cardio‐metabolic risk factors is not yet established. Furthermore, no validated questionnaire‐based method of identifying adults with AD is currently available. To assess the cardio‐metabolic risk in adults with a history of AD using 3 different questionnaire‐based diagnostic criteria. We utilized data from a general population study including questionnaire data and objective measurements of 9656 Danish adults.
The association between cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes in adults with atopic dermatitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Recent studies examining the association between atopic dermatitis (AD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes have shown inconsistent results. We compared the risk of CVD and diabetes between adult patients with and without AD by searching the Pubmed, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Data extraction was done by two independent reviewers. We found a total of 2,855 citations, of which 53 were considered relevant based on title and abstract.
The association between atopic dermatitis and hand eczema: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Atopic dermatitis (AD) and hand eczema (HE) are common chronic and relapsing inflammatory skin conditions that often co-occur. While several studies have addressed their relationship, the exact association estimate is unknown. We systematically reviewed published literature on the association between AD and HE in PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science using the following search terms; (atopic dermatitis OR atopic eczema) AND (hand dermatitis OR hand eczema).
Safety, efficacy, and drug survival of biologics and biosimilars for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis
To examine safety, efficacy, and time to discontinuation (drug survival) of biologics (adalimumab, etanercept, infliximab, secukinumab, and ustekinumab) and compare originators with biosimilars (i.e. Enbrel with Benepali, and Remicade with Remsima). The DERMBIO registry contains data on all Danish patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis treated with biologics. We examined patients treated between January 1 st , 2007 and March 31 st , 2017.

The value and pitfalls of biologics registries for psoriasis
We are pleased that our initial perspective article in the BJD have sparked discussions. As indicated in our initial paper, our main critical point is the exponential growth in publications relating to drug survival as an efficacy assessment based on non-randomized registry data (Figure 1).

Burden of respiratory comorbidities in patients with atopic dermatitis and psoriasis
Atopic dermatitis (AD), a skin disease with an estimated lifetime prevalence of up to 20%, represents a major global healthcare burden.1 Patients with AD have a propensity to develop asthma due to a combination of genetic, immunological and environmental factors, yet descriptive studies on the impact of respiratory diseases in adults with AD are scarce.2 In contrast, psoriasis, another chronic inflammatory skin disease, has been associated with respiratory comorbidities such as chronic...

Increased global arterial and subcutaneous adipose tissue inflammation in patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis
Psoriasis is associated with cardiovascular disease; it has been proposed that increased cardiovascular risk is caused by low-grade systemic inflammation involving organs and tissues other than the skin and joints. To investigate signs of vascular inflammation in untreated patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis assessed by 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography. A secondary objective was to assess signs of subcutaneous adipose tissue inflammation.
