The management of aortic arch aneurysms continues to evolve. Variations in technique range from open arch replacements, to total endovascular grafting. A number of hybrid surgical and endovascular techniques for the management of aortic arch pathology have been described and are now included in contemporary guidelines. Given their novelty, there is a paucity of literature on the use and clinical results of these techniques.

Minimally invasive mitral valve surgery (MMVS) is increasingly used. While proponents argue reduced transfusion rates and shorter hospital stays, whether this approach leads to better long-term outcomes remains unclear. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing MMVS to conventional sternotomy for mitral valve surgery.
