Interview
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes - back in the days where I made my first zines/wrote my first papers.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Software: Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, Open Office, Wordpress, Audacity. Shoot w/Nikon cameras
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter was until it became nearly unusable thanks to fascist creep. I'm mostly on Bluesky and Instagram now.
Why did you become a journalist?
To tell stories, most often from a "people's perspective," particularly ones that are under-reported.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I love all of them, but a few stand out (in no particular order): The CTU strikes, CPS closings, Occupy Chicago, the NATO summit in Chicago.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime. I'm always connected.
