Aaron Rossi’s Biography

Dr. Aaron Rossi is a highly accomplished medical professional who graduated from Elmhurst College in 2006 and earned his medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine in 2012. During medical school, Dr. Rossi discovered his passion for business management in private medical practice and has since developed a proven model for effective leadership. He has served in multiple capacities across the healthcare continuum, allowing him to expand his knowledge and skillset while always keeping physicians' autonomy in mind.

In March 2018, Dr. Rossi purchased PAL Health Technologies, a national prescription custom foot and ankle orthotic fabrication laboratory established 40 years ago. In June 2019, he founded Reditus Laboratories, LLC, which initially focused on dermatopathology and histology, with only eight employees. By December 2019, Reditus Laboratories had acquired its first real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) machine to accurately diagnose soft tissue and wound infections, followed by PCR testing for infectious diseases, including COVID-19, to their test menu.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Aaron Rossi quickly shifted production at PAL to face shields for first responders and hospital systems locally and throughout the United States. Through Reditus Laboratories, he provided PCR COVID-19 testing nationwide, partnering with notable organizations such as the United States Customs and Border Patrol, Smithfield Foods, Illinois Department of Corrections, and many others. Over the past two years, Reditus Laboratories has performed approximately five million COVID RT-PCR tests using real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction to detect viral nucleic acid in extracted clinical samples of the upper respiratory tract, nasopharynx, anterior nares, and bronchoalveolar lavages.

Reditus Labs is staffed 24/7 and provides test results in 24 hours or less for up to 35,000 SARS-COv2 tests per day. Test results can be reported via bidirectional interfaces, fax, and online via a secure HL7 portal. Reditus Laboratories strictly adheres to HIPAA compliance guidelines and is CLIA certified and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAPs).

In addition to COVID-19 testing, Reditus Laboratories expanded its capabilities to genetic sequencing, explicitly looking for variants among randomly selected positive COVID-19 samples. This additional testing provides invaluable information to the Illinois Department of Public Health, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and GSAID on how the virus was spreading and mutating and how effective vaccines might be to the current strain circulating.

Dr. Aaron Rossi has generously donated over $3 million in COVID-19 tests to Peoria Public Schools and Unit 5 in Bloomington, Illinois. He continues giving back to his community by contributing to several local colleges. His philanthropy extends beyond education as he also serves on the board of Easter Seals, which strives to expand local access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Dr. Rossi partnered with OSF by donating a million dollars to help construct the new 180,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Cancer Institute, furthering his mission to improve healthcare access and outcomes for all.
