Abbie Synan’s Biography

Abbie Synan is a journalist and the voice behind Speck on the Globe, a sustainable travel blog. She has worked remotely, traveling full time since 2013 and has been exploring the world one "spot" at a time visiting over 100 countries. Her focus has been ways she can highlight responsible tourism efforts, taking vacations while still be a mindful traveler. She is on the content team for Impact Travel Alliance, a global organization committed to improving our world through travel. In an effort to expand the conversation surrounding ethics within the travel industry, Abbie is the sustainability expert for the Wanderful Community, a global women's travel collective.

In addition to her passion for adventure, Abbie is on the board of the AABC Foundation and the CABC, non-profit organizations that fundraise and promote safe and healthy options for maternity care and reproductive health in the US.
