What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist was with Memorial University's student newspaper - the Muse. I was a staff writer for my final year.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
I can't pick one! Here are some of my favourite journalists: Pacinthe Mattar, Desmond Cole, Elle Reeve, Duncan McCue. Jodi Kantor
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm most proud of my Airbnb investigation for The Independent! Early in my career, I started a conversation about Airbnb in my hometown.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
People often tend to view me as quiet and reserved, but in truth, I am quite vocal and assertive. My willingness to speak up is often overshadowed by my strength as a good listener.
