What was your first job as a journalist?
I became an editorial producer at CNN when I was 21 years old.
How is social media changing news?
Influencers are given priority over actual journalists these days. I've seen it in nearly every event I've attended.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Reporting the truth, supported with reality-based facts. Always strive to be 100% accurate, honest, and direct.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email always. If I don't answer, it's because it's not the right fit.
Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to tell stories that would change the world--whether that meant one person's world or the entire world. I aim to do it daily.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Practicing yoga, walking my dog, riding my bike or traveling. Somewhere outside.

New York Magazine, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Bloomberg, and The Economist.
