I WILL NEVER understand how people, especially educated professional people
Response to LuckyCharms (Original post) Mon Aug 14, 2023, 11:35 PM Said the average American is painfully ignorant about economics. So, a MAGA thinks it was due to Trumpís actions that inflation was lower and the stock market increased a lot when Trump was Prez (until COVID, which they think is not Trumpís fault). They donít understand cause and effect. They have a job (or are retired) so they donít care what the unemployment rate is, because they think it doesnít affect themselves.

Response to debm55 (Original post) Wed Jul 19, 2023, 10:05 AM 3. My 17 year old cat is Andy. My son pulled him out of a drain behind the restaurant he managed when Andy was just a few weeks old. My son and DIL named the kitten Little Orphan Annie. I then took the cat to my vet to be spayed. Both the doctor and I were totally surprised that Annie was a male! So, he became Andy. Trump: People 'were crying' at Manhattan courthouse during my arraignment
In an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, former President Donald Trump claimed that employees at a Manhattan courthouse “were crying” as he was arraigned last week. “When I went to the courthouse which is also a prison in a sense,” Trump said during the interview, which airs in full on Tuesday night. “They signed me in and I'll tell you people were crying. People that work there." “Professionally work there that have no problems putting in murderers and they see everybody.

Leslie Stahl's 60 Minutes interview with MTG: A spectacular failure
Sun Apr 2, 2023, 10:49 PM on the part those who leaped to judgement--without even have seen the report--and claimed without evidence that CBS was normalizing fascism. Rather, this was a devastating take-down. Brutal. Well done Leslie Stahl! Well done 60 Minutes! Well done CBS! Meanwhile the silence from those who got it spectacularly wrong is deafening. If you feel inclined to offer up mea culpas, consider this your platform.

John Meacham is my favorite panel member on MSNBC.
Response to Siwsan (Reply #4) Fri Mar 31, 2023, 06:53 AM 5. I like Meacham And usually read his comments. Not sure why vocal fry bothers me so much but even when Christine Blasey Ford gave lengthy testimony against Kavanaugh I had to read about it instead of listening to her vocal fry voice. So sorry. Just a quirk with me. But I do value Meacham’s input. Reply to this post Back to top Alert abuse Link here Permalink

I just saw Jupiter and Venus "kissing"
Response to GreenWave (Original post) Wed Mar 1, 2023, 08:19 PM 9. This happens about once a year, but this time it's practically an occultation. Venus is nearly superimposed over Jupiter, and, since Venus is hundreds of millions of miles closer to the Earth, it appears larger in the sky. Thus it's ability to hide, or occult, Jupiter. Astrologically, it's a very expansive, easy going time, in which people feel good about things in general.
I am disgusted to my fucking core about the state of this country.
Response to Hortensis (Reply #18) Wed Mar 1, 2023, 07:10 PM 27. a lot more than venting. Venting has been found to be unproductive. It doesn't make a person feel better and it doesn't make anyone else feel better, either. In psychology, I believe it can lead to ruminating. We have some psychology people here; maybe they can add some info. Democracy is participatory. Participate however one can. A person doesn't need to be a genius or even of high IQ to do so.

Joking aside, thank goodness I've got enough leftovers from the other night for a meal. Reply to this post Back to top Alert abuse Link here Permalink

I did a ham a few days ago. Hence the scalloped potatoes and ham. The relatively small amount I made will be at least three meals for me. I will also be cutting up the ham into portions for future scalloped potatoes and ham. Maybe a ham and bean soup. Because I live alone and have a very small appetite, I have to plan carefully. This particular ham cost just over $15.00, and I've already gotten four meals from it, plus two more (the rest of the scalloped etc) in the fridge.
