All the studies which have been conducted on anemia among children aged 6–23 months in Ethiopia were cross-sectional by study design. There is inconsistency in prevalence report and controversies in reporting the risk factors that exposed children for anemia. In addition, cross-sectional studies are lower in evidence generation than systematic review. Systematic review and meta-analysis are driven by evidence-based medicine movement and Cochrane collaboration.
