Adam Baer’s Biography

Adam Baer is a writer and editor in New York. As a young violinist, Adam worked in music criticism and at NPR as a cultural/music digital producer, who wrote for the New York Times, New Republic, Slate, and Washington Post. Adam co-hosted and composed the music for the short-lived podcast Recoup, which was profiled in The Los Angeles Times; he also provided the music for Literary Hub's Lit Century podcast. More of Adam's writing and/or journalism/editorial work has appeared in Harper's, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, Atlantic, VQR, Popular Science, The Believer, Gramophone, GQ, Travel + Leisure, The Financial Times Magazine, Men's Journal, The American Scholar, Fast Company, and in many other arenas. Books that feature Adam's work include Before and After: Stories from New York; Lost and Found: Stories from New York; A Leaky Tent is a Piece of Paradise; and 826LA's first anthology, Rhythm of the Chain, sponsored by Phil Jackson, for which Adam served on the editorial board.
