X-Files Reboot on Hulu In Dev
The X-Files Returns? Black Panther Director Ryan Coogler Eyes ‘Diverse’ Reboot of Classic Sci-Fi Series The truth is, once again, out there. Black Panther‘s Ryan Coogler is developing a “diverse” reboot of the classic sci-fi drama The X-Files, original series creator Chris Carter said in a recent Canadian podcast.
CIA Series (Spinoff from FBI) on CBS
I'll definitely check it out, I agree with @Mike Lang, they are good when looking for filler time. Though I hope its not called FBI:CIA, that just seem weird. Though I wish they would have kept international. I like the international flavor of it over the other 2. Shades of "Crossing lines" from a few years ago. I enjoyed that one. Assuming CIA should be outside of the country stuff, maybe it will be similar🤷♂️

Why are pixels dying on the corner of my OLED TV?
I’ve owned my Sony A80J OLED TV for a little over 10 months now. A couple of months ago, I noticed that the top right corner had some dead pixels right on the corner. Shown at the below link is a picture of how it looked a couple of months ago. Now two months later, I noticed one or two extra pixels have gone out right next to it. I'm trying to be ok with the TV as is because honestly, a few dead pixels are not the end of the world.
Does having your new OLED professionally calibrated make a big difference in picture quality?
EDIT- I wanted to provide an update. I figured out what the real problem was and it is HDR content. After reviewing some Rtings material I noticed they mentioned that " HDR content is usually fairly dim when compared to SDR content" and HDR is meant to be watched in a completely dark room. So, SDR is brighter and more vibrant on average, however, it lacks specular highlights and I believe has less refined shadow detail.
Will Disney Learn Anything?
#1 · After a series of consecutive movie flops (which I'll define as movies that did not get into the black), do you think Disney has learned a lesson, or will their material continue to push a woke agenda for another few years? Iger is shrewd, I think they will have to start making changes sooner rather than later.
Mid-Century Modern Comedy Series on Hulu
Hulu Orders Comedy Pilot From Max Mutchnick, David Kohan & Ryan Murphy Starring Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer And Linda Lavin By Lynette Rice deadline.com In one of the more promising pieces of development to come along in a while, Hulu has ordered Mid-Century Modern, a comedy pilot from Will & Grace duo Max Mutchnick and David Kohan and Uber-producer Ryan Murphy. Nathan Lane and Matt Bomer are set to star and executive produce the series that will also star Linda Lavin.
4K Ultra UHD or Blu-ray disc?
#1 · Good Day I own a 4K OLED TV 55 inches connected via HDMI 2.1 cable which will be connected to my incoming Cambridge Audio CXUHD universal player. My major question: Which will be better to watch a film is it by 4K Ultra UHD disc or by Blu-ray disc connected to a universal player with upscaling capability to 2160p resolution. I watched some comparisons on YouTube, and I felt watching a film on Blu-ray looks better than watching a film on a 4K Ultra UHD disc.
Are there any new Blu-Ray players with HDMI 2.1
#1 · Does anyone make a modern Blu-ray Player with HDMI 2.1? After laying out the technical groundwork and specification for our new theater, we are embracing all new tech, the latest and greatest standards. Processor (MARANTZ AV10) has 2.1 HDMI, projector (Epson LS12000) has HDMI 2.1 but my Oppo 205 and McIntosh MVP891 only have HDMI 2.0. I am not even sure if the Oppo 205 has HDMI 2.0.a or 2.0.b specs. I have all audiouest carbon HDMI 2.1 rated cables, 48gps, high bandwith.
Mogami 2921 vs Canare 4S11 Speaker Wire
#1 · I have had Mogami 2921 speaker wire for many years, used it for my surround sound systems in the past. Now it is in my 2 channel living room system, my best quality system. I have been thinking about trying some new speaker wire for a long time. With so many choices and prices all over the place it made it difficult to choose. So I decided on the Canare 4S11 because of price. Also read some great comments about this wire. I ordered my new cables from B&H Photo Video.
OLED has been surpassed by Mini LED in price and performance
#1 · As the title says - and before I post in the OLED thread, just wanted to check if anyone else had the same thoughts/experience. Recently bought TCL 98x955 with 5000 zones and peak brightness 5000 nits. Putting aside the issues with this TV’s video processing, in case where the video processing is not essential, like when the source material is perfect, this TV is miles ahead in every aspect compared to my prior reference Sony 83” A90J.
Dual HT24 build using GSG BTS Dual Sealed enclosure
#1 · I have been running several 18's in my theater room for quite a while now. Two 18's in baffle wall and four 18's behind my seating. I have been curious about 24's. A pair of HT24's became available here on AVS, so I bought them. My goal with this build was to replace the four 18's I have behind my seating with two 24's. Displacement wise, when looking at area and stroke, I am not gaining anything, but it allows me to do the following: 1. Save space. 2.
Cambridge Audio CXN StreamMagic Issue
Hello everyone! I use the StreamMagic app on my iPhone and iPad to stream music from Qobuz. The issue occurs with both Apple devices. The problem ranges from intermittent to consistent and is extremely annoying. During playback of a song, the music will pause/stop whenever my iPhone or iPad screen turns off after a few seconds of inactivity. It will also stop if I look at another app or menu on the device. To continue playing the music I have to wake up the device and press play again.
What happened to UHD Blu-ray players?
Joined Mar 2, 2020 · 327 Posts Discussion Starter · #1 · a moment ago I’ve been considering buying a new UHD Blu-ray player recently. My Sony UBP-X700 is about three years old and has worked flawlessly (maybe I got lucky considering some of the complaints?), but it’s now time to move it into another room. It’s disappointing to see that nothing has changed since I bought the X700.
Help with new DAC
Joined Mar 2, 2020 · 59 Posts Discussion Starter · #1 · a moment ago Hi everyone. I‘ve been considering investing in a new DAC. I’m looking for something that can provide a more natural, analog sound. I’m particularly interested in ladder/R2R/multibit DACs such as the Bifrost 2 and Denafrips Ares 2 as some claim they sound more natural and can remove the ’digital edge’ other DACs have. My system consists of an Arcam SA20, Cambridge Audio CXN, Cambridge Audio CXC and Wharfedale Diamond 11.4s.
