What was your first job as a journalist?
I got two at the same time, writing comedic sports articles for a sports website and comedic movie reviews for an entertainment website.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. But it's been decades.
How is social media changing news?
Everything is quicker and anybody, not even with a news org, can break a story. And our president can share military intelligence on Twitter

What does it mean to be a journalist?
To tell the story in an entertaining and meaningful way

With Trump, it's something different everyday and as long as they're mocking him, they're funny.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I have no preference.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Photoshop, In Design, Quark, Wordpress, HTML, Word, The usual.

Who do you wish followed you?
Donald Trump. Just so he would be forced to read what I tweet about him. My goal, when he was first running, was for him to block me
Why did you become a journalist?
It was all an accident. I was supposed to write comics. The journalism jobs came to me and now I'm here.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Yes. Columnist and cartoonist.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'd show my Cracked.com work to anyone at any time. My photos across the board and most of my sports features.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Pick your focus and stay with it. Don't expect to get rich.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time is good.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
If there's travel and a hotel stay involved, I'm in.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Any offer to cover real news is turned down on the spot. No interest at all.
What's your favorite drink?
Coke Zero and anything mixed with it.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At a live sporting event, shooting photos.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I don't think there is one. Sports are fun. People pay to watch them and I get paid to cover. It's a good gig.
