Album Review: Memory Noise – Time is a Dimension
Memory Noise is the electronic project of Fabio Servolo, a musician based in Italy. His music explores mood, texture, and the passage of time, creating soundscapes that blur the lines between memory and presence. Working with analog and digital synths, field recordings, and sampling, he assembles fragments into immersive compositions shaped by reflection and emotion. ‘Time Is A Dimension‘ is an album that explores the perception of time as a living, ever-changing substance.
Album Review: Jeff Mills – The Trip To Vega
The Trip To Vega is about deep outer space odyssey that occurs in the process of traveling from Earth through the Cosmos to another “favorable” star system 25.3 light-years away. The time is year 2097, Sept 23rd.
Album Review: Dave Mech – Berlin Seite
The core idea behind “Berlin Seite” is old school: capture the raw, unfiltered energy of a live techno performance in a dark club night oozing of energy. Every track on the 10‑track digital album and the 4‑track vinyl EP is a slice taken straight from a night on the floor. The dance floors were all packed and the crowd’s and my connected energy fed straight into the machines through both the club’s system and onto the recordings.
Album Review: AMAS X Frithjof -Martin Grabner – SRDGN X LPZG
What happens when the mathematical rigor of Johann Sebastian Bach is stripped of its classical facade? With the album SRDNG x LPZG, the duo AMAS, together with double bassist Frithjof Martin Grabner, delivers a radical answer. The work does not merely translate Bach’s legacy; it consistently reimagines it within the aesthetics of Minimal, Dub-Techno, and Ambient.
Album Review: Dante – New Places
New Places‘ is Dante‘s third studio album – and his most daring yet. It‘s an album breaking new ground and redefines Dante‘s sound. It was created entirely in London – a city whose energy, diversity and chaos can be heard in every track. Field recordings, urban textures and pulsating rhythms combine to create a soundscape that not only captures the city, but breathes it. Despite all the new influences, Dante‘s signature style remains unmistakable.
EP Review: Get Together III – Form & Terra Records
The journey moves into its next chapter, as four artists come together once again to bring the many colors of electronic music to life. modul808 opens the journey with deep, warm chords and a driving groove that instantly pulls the listener into the depths of its sonic landscape. In “Kamuro”, shimmering details line the explorer’s path, while the magical vocals of Igor Pose are elegantly woven into the arrangement, creating a dense and hypnotic atmosphere.
EP Review: Millsart – Whatever The Case
Millsart aka Jeff Mills: “Suggestiveness and the artistry of it is a realm of magic we mistakenly underestimate. If wielded effectively, it’s possible to shift opinions and ideas to an unfathomable level. Quickly, not knowing becomes not caring and not caring becomes anyone’s right to justify not knowing. But beyond the razzmatazz and blinding lights always lies the truth- whatever the case”.
EP Review: Kat Davids – Winterswell
Kat Davids is a Berlin-based producer, DJ, radio host, and a member of the CURA Berlin collective. Her music is shaped by analog machines, field recordings, and playful percussion, resulting in tracks rich in mood, texture, and sonic detail, with her own voice woven in at times. Her recent releases include “Dust” on Intercept Records and “Haunted” on Tresor Records, as well as contributions to the Nachtdigital vinyl LP and a Klinkamusic various artists release.
EP Review: Pilocka Krach - Faust III Akt I
The laughing, frowning mask’s play … prologue from Schiller’s Wallenstein Berlin artist Pilocka Krach brilliantly presents her new album with the first act of Faust III. The number 3 defines the entire work’s theme: 3 titles for 3 acts makes for 3 singles and 3 releases on 7 inch and digital – the album. The musician Pilocka Krach hereby forms the image and idea of art and magic – and here in particular, art’s intrigue with Mephista.A joke in all earnest.
Album Review: 505 - True at first light
Berlin-based duo 505, composed of Daniel Calvi and Mattia Prete, announces the release of its debut album, set to arrive on February 27, 2026. The self-produced album, the result of three years of work, is a definitive statement of 505’s innovative spirit, masterfully blurring the lines between acoustic soul and electronic precision. The Sound: A Cinematic Journey – This album is more than a collection of tracks; it is a deeply immersive sonic journey designed for focused listening.
EP Review: Tomorrow Comes The Harvest - The Happening
...Two beautifully organic pieces of improvised wonder... “The Happening” by Tomorrow Comes The Harvest is the least case, a provocative confrontation. It’s a challenge or dare to the idea that music can be useful if we are able to experience it. I would imagine that to many, music having an objective beyond the listener doesn’t make sense because the general thought is that Music is made for us to consume, to make us remember, to influence us and to make us feel something.
Album Review: Nigh/T\mare - Through
...Techno infused tracks all under a foreboding canopy of brooding clouds... Nigh/T\mare is the brainchild of Italian artist and producer Giuseppe Sciretti, who sets out to channel a unique blend of dark aesthetics, lush atmospherics, and techno beats, making for a distinct, direct, and forward-thinking feel.
EP Review: Drexciya - Fusion Flats
Patience is a virtue, and here is one of its rewards... Tresor Records announces the first-ever reissue of Drexciya’s ‘Fusion Flats’ 12” vinyl, including remixes from Detroit’s Octave One, Kaotic Spatial Rhythms and 043 Chaos. Originally released in the wake of Drexciya’s seminal 1999 Tresor debut album ‘Neptune’s Lair’, this release marks its long-awaited return and first appearance on digital platforms.
Album Review: The Black Cat’s Eye - Decrypting Dreams Of Weird Animals And Strange Objects
A hypnotic vortex of real psychedelic rock music.... The Black Cat’s Eye – these are glaring fuzz, bass and drum riffs, interwoven chord pickings and lead guitars rooted in the blues – sometimes screaming, singing or rough. And above everything, the instrumental and song melody hovers almost like a hymn. With their musical style, the band, founded in Frankfurt am Main/Germany in 2018, is directly linked to the ’60s and ’70s – the great era of psychedelic rock.
Album Review: Yelka - In a Rose Hat
...the perfect antidote to a world of troubles... A strikingly different take on contemporary America—YELKA’s In A Rose Hat offers an artistic perspective far removed from stadium rock or trap trends. It’s an intimate, almost cinematic interpretation that upends expectations. “Crawl into your hibernation, don’t wait for a new sensation…” the opening, ´Colors Will Come´— begins the new album of the Berlin post-rock trio YELKA like a warm ballad.
LP Compilation Review: Don Letts - The Rebel Dread @ Echo Beach
...a compilation that will get heavy rotation from all the Dub lovers... Echo Beach proudly presents: Don Letts – The Rebel Dread – legendary film and video director, disc jockey and musician. Don Letts, in his capacity as a selector (it’s not for nothing that he hosts his own show on BBC6 radio), enthusiastically accepted the invitation to create a compilation from Echo Beach’s extensive catalog to mark its 30th anniversary. A splendid and crisp selection.
EP Review: Millsart - Space Outside Space
...A sonic journey through uncharted dimensions... Axis Expressionist Series vol.8 The meaning of this concept (Space Outside :Space) lies within your answers to these questions. Providing the questions are considered with honesty, the true meaning of what “Space” refers to becomes revealed. There are no right or wrong answers, just reactions based on your view and angles on the mechanisms of life. – Millsart aka Jeff Mills What becomes a person that doesn’t dream?
Album Review: Spiral Deluxe - The Love Pretender
...a unique selection of sessions... Demonstrating the poignant power of experience + human connection + innate musicality + operating in the present moment, Jeff Mills’ Spiral Deluxe collective unveil their second album – The Love Pretender.
Album Review: Fluxion - Haze
...late night session perfection... Since his early days at Chain Reaction, K. Soublis (Fluxion) has carved his own unique style, combining elements of dub, ambient, techno, score, textural, and even jazz elements, all glued together with his distinct production aesthetic. Haze is a broad selection of pieces that was recorded between 2023-2024.
EP Review: Cie - Adventures II
...pure minimal techno bliss... Cie embarks on a new sonic expedition with ‘Adventures II‘, the successor to the original journey, continuing the musical quest with great intensity and energy. As the music begins, ‘Reichenstein‘ rises on the horizon like a majestic mountain peak, growing ever more imposing as you draw closer. Upon arrival, the towering presence of the castle welcomes you with its raw power.
EP Review: Millsart - Star Child
...Rhythmic delights brimming with percussive perfection... This is Axis Expressionist series Pt. 7. Imperfections are a natural part of the world, and they can make us beautiful and unique: Nothing and everything is perfect. We can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and still we’re beautiful.” A Star Child is the idea that a person can be incomplete and not self-aware, yet accept their imperfections, still direct their influence despite the arrangements of periodic and trending consequence.
Album Review: Cluster Lizard - Herts
...Not for the faint hearted... The pulse of the path. In a massive heartbeat, daring waves rise one after another. The unbreakable tide of the lightning dance, where life and death collide in the eternal vibration of consciousness. In previous centuries, Ukrainian warriors invented an audacious macabre ritual called Herts, a courageous death dance.
Album Review: Scan 7 - Dark Territory
...the beginning of a mesmerising body of work... Patience is a virtue well-rewarded in techno; finding the right groove to build on then holding your nerve long enough to pay off the wait at the optimum moment is a much more skillful endeavour than it would seem for such a minimalistic style. And few display this talent better than Detroit originals Scan 7.
Album Review: James Last - Funky Music
...Jam packed with grooves... There are people who think that the terms JAMES LAST and FUNKY MUSIC cannot be used in the same sentence. These people may know James Last, but they certainly don’t know the whole of James Last.
EP Review: Maedon - Maedon 2.0
...Heavy unrelenting techno bliss... Following 5 years in Berlin, two albums and a continuing residency at Tresor all bringing acclaim, Maedon is now an established voice and one also in transition. The 8th release for her own Rant & Rave label announces this in its title, 2.0, and its sound, a bold move away from her industrial roots towards the groove-laden techno that earned her bones im Keller.
EP Review: David Heine, Konstantin Kost - Freedom From Escape
...A perfect two sider... Erich Fromm‘s “Escape from Freedom” was published 83 years ago. His assumption was that modern man, having freed himself from the shackles of the old days and living freely, longs to return to the totalitarian, destructive and conformist world. In 2024, the pluralistic and individualized way of life of the so-called West seems self-evident. Boundless freedom is suggested – but we continue to flee. Utopias are crumbling and conservatism is experiencing a renaissance.
Album Review: Minotaur Shock - It All Levels Out
...an enchanting spell of ambient laid back lushness... A chance encounter with an old school friend provided the inspiration for It All Levels Out, the 10th album from the Bristolian electronic producer Minotaur Shock, aka David Edwards. The original plan for the album was to make something a bit looser than usual; more ambient but still melodic, like the 90s music that made a big impression on Edwards, such as Global Communication and Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works Vol 2.
Album Review: us & sparkles - When The Birds Kick In
...beautifully crafted instrumentals... A red sun sparkles through heaven’s space with a slate-colored haze: When The Bird Kicks In marks the departure towards a new vibe within the us & sparkles universe: warm pigments, woody ambiences and an overall witty attitude lay the ground for a psychedelic trip across a wild west inspired soundscape. The air shines dense and muggy: An ambient and guitar driven opening evolves continuously into a more and more dancy tonality.
EP Review: Aszent - Black Dots
...Deep rhythmic Techno bliss... Get ready to vibe with Aszent, the techno duo known for their electrifying live performances and expert hardware wizardry. They’re back with their latest creation, “Black Dots EP,” set to release on September 20. Aszent excels at blending classic and contemporary techno sounds, crafting tracks that are pure ear candy. “Black Dots EP” promises to elevate this fusion, offering an immersive experience that will captivate both longtime fans and new listeners.
Album Review: Mieke Miami - Birdland (Edition DUR 19)
...impeccable performances from all involved... Mieke Miami is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer originally from Hamburg, but now based in the working-class, so-called “artist enclave” of Luckenwalde, in the state of Brandenburg, southwest of Berlin. Her musical origins lie in jazz saxophone, which she studied in the German capital before starting her journey as a songwriter in 2014.
EP Review: Millsart - Powerland
...Experience once more, the wonders... Part 6 in the Axis Expressionist series The relationship between our star, the source that gives us life and the land we occupy during this transcendental process is one of sensitivity and compassion. Topography and rock settlements are positioned as conductive posts of energy. An energy line wrapping around a planet that straddles between the past, the present and the future. And on this land, exists an engineered string of energy called the 37th Parallel.
EP Review: AMAS and KONSTANTIN KOST - Odessa
How do we live in times when nothing seems safe, how do we listen to music when rockets and bullets make the air scream, how do we produce music when the building with our studio is simply no longer there? Over the last 2 years, AMAS and KONSTANTIN KOST have been trying to produce a techno EP across the borders of the war in Ukraine. KONSTANTIN KOST was never able to leave Ukraine for this, while we were able to move freely through Europe.
Album Review: Jack Rock - Explorations of a fourth dimension
...a journey back through the dimensions of time, to a place where a musical revolution was happening. Electronic music was always the sound of the future. Imagined soundtracks of what the world could be. The music of technology mirrored our utopian visions of the new possibilities, ideas and expanded consciousness that technology would bring. This stands in stark contrast to the reality we live in.
Album Review: Nico van Wersch - Psychose
A pulsating rhythmic delight... How do I explain something I don’t fully understand? How do I introduce a music theatre piece that overwhelms but continues to elude me? Van Wersch’s musical score is part of the miraculous, frightening machinery of this production at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. Like the treadmills themselves, the music is something the performers struggle against and yet which propels them irresistibly forward.
Album Review: Bird - Wider Than The Sky (Original motion Picture Soundtrack)
...a gem that should not go undiscovered... ‘Wider Than The Sky‘ is the soundtrack album to the multi-award winning short film by Renowned multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter, BIRD. Known for her use of a diverse musical palette and exceptional ability to blend genres seamlessly, BIRD’s latest offering showcases elements of atmospheric electronic dream-pop and contemporary folk, again solidifying her reputation as an innovative one-woman force in the world of music and film scoring.

Album Review: Jeff Mills - The Eyewitness
...The 'Wizard' delivers... “Trauma and the shock effect of it – the leftover residue of harsh reality so impactful that it shapes the way you imagine, envision and calculate your position in regard to everything and everyone around you. A new type of psychological radius evolves. Boundaries are reinforced. Relationships are recessed. A damaged brief system float aimlessly. Vulnerable to and for anything reminiscent of a worthy cause.
Album Review: PC Nackt - Der Einzige und sein Eigentum
This music is a memory of an experience, a dream, open to speculation, a fleeting moment to close your eyes and see the beauty with your ears, an invitation to own time and choose your perspective on the crystal of possibilities. It is a zooming into the perspective of a creator – an encouragement to touch the microstructures of the world and form something big out of something small, to make waves. It’s an opportunity to shape things and redefine meaning.
Album Review: Szary - Datei (Edition DUR 17)
...carefully crafted with focus on every element... “Datei” by (Sebastian) Szary curates 10 innovative and abstract reinterpretations, better call it reworks of music tracks initially presented by Moderat in their 2022 release “More D4ta” (Monkeytown Records). This music here is far from being another remix album. During the long and intense creatve process of making “More D4ta”- Szary, Ring and Bronsert sat for hours, weeks, months on the process of writing songs, recording and mixdowns.

Album Review: Jeff Mills - The Trip: Enter The Black Hole
,,,Immersive music that undoubtedly takes you on a 'Trip'... Since the beginning of humanity, man has always wondered about what lies beyond the Stars. The relevance to what and who we are, but also what we will eventually become and where we need to go.

Album Review: PC Nackt - Angabe Der Person
..a project that deserves to be experienced ouside of the theatrical performance.. PC Nackt is a multiple Grammy-nominated post-genre composer, performance artist, multi instrumentalist and producer from Berlin.
EP Review - Millsart - Neo Tantric Parts
...percussive brillaince and shining melodies that glide deeper and deeper through dreamlike atmospheric layers... “Rationalizing our place amongst the Stars is a referendum. A mandate in the scale of a space-time continuum, which is a task that might seem infinitely cavernous to most, but a lifelong mandate to others. As nature’s allowance of time just isn’t favorable to an average human lifespan of a 100 years, this task must be inherited and handed down in the method of an acoustical trust.
Album Review: Squarepusher - Dostrotime
..wonderful electronic adventures coupled with reflective acoustic arrangements.. Whether composing Music For Robots with 78 fingers, performing with Shobaleader One, or exacting the drum and bass carnage his three decade career is prized for, Tom Jenkinson presents exhilarating experiments in a stoic yet playful manner. But as with any album bearing the “Made In Lockdown” tag, it’s hard not to attribute emotionality to the latest Squarepusher offering, Dostrotime.

EP Review: Millsart - X-Ray Zulu
The Axis Expressionist Series continues in 2024. For Part 04 ‘X-Rax Zulu’ Jeff Mills went into the studio again and created ‘Just Like A (Vernacular Objects)’, a new mix of ‘Vernacular Objects’ (previously released 2020 only in digital as ‘Every Dog Has Its Day. Vol. 13’) and produced three new tracks exclusively for this vinyl edition. X-Ray Zulu refers all the things that could be defined as correct, as right and as perfect in an imperfect world and context.
EP Review: Recoilprodukt - Catalyst
...a brooding, dark decent into madness... Recoilprodukt, a pioneering recording studio/label that first emerged in 1984 with its defiantly iconic recordings for Psyche, F451, and Vanishing Heat, is returning with an initial release that fittingly resurrects its imprint. Titled ‘Catalyst‘, this two-track EP is the first instalment of a haunting sci-fi narrative series.
