Because I want to tell interesting stories.

High schools in Saudi Arabia don’t have newspapers.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The rise of Arab American standup comedy and how it helped export this performance art to the Middle East.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Bill Lambert once said: “You must have a low threshold of indignation, a low tolerance for corruption and abuse of public trust.”
