In limbo
Uncertainty is one of the few guarantees in life. It’s human nature to doubt the paths we take, whether we change courses or not. When it comes to college, lying in limbo is as common as student loans. It can be a quiet pain for sure, and often a collective loneliness. Finding your way after graduating. Coping with the off-season. Feeling lost in your major. Stuck between social circles.
Everything must go: Ski edition
Missoulians were lined up and down the sidewalk of the Missoula Fairgrounds this past weekend to buy and sell their ski and snowboard gear for the 2024-25 season. I thought I was arriving early, but as soon as I turned the corner to the parking lot, I quickly realized one hour was not enough buffer time. Despite the cold weather, participants of the Saftey on Snow Fair had been lined up since the early morning, dancing to keep warm.

55th annual Kyiyo Pow Wow, in portraits
At the core of the Kyiyo Pow Wow is a space bursting with tradition, including a wide array of people from multiple tribes, their families and their friends. The Kaimin photo team set up a portrait booth as a backdrop for dancers to express themselves through photographs. The powwow dancers were separated into groups based on age, gender and categories including Traditional, Fancy, Grass, Chicken and Jingle. Age groups ranged from Tiny Tots (ages 6 and under) to Golden Age (55 and up).
Inside life on four wheels
In a modern twist on the concept of a home, meet Phil Sharrow and Fabricio Brebión, two individuals in the Missoula area who have embraced an avant garde lifestyle. These two people do not know each other, but are among millions who have started to embrace the trend of life on four wheels. According to rv-pro.com, the number of van-lifers rose from 1.9 million in 2020 to 3.1 million in 2022.
