1 Introduction Stroke ranks among the leading global causes of disability and death, with ischemic strokes accounting for approximately 85% of cases [1, 2]. Endovascular treatment (EVT) stands as the recommended standard of care for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) involving large vascular occlusion (LVO), offering swift restoration of blood flow [3, 4]. Recent studies have demonstrated significant clinical advantages associated with early EVT for AIS patients [5-8].
Summary Background Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a common sequela after stroke. China has a large population of stroke survivors, but a large-scale survey on the incidence and risk factors for PSCI has not been undertaken. We aimed to calculate the incidence and risk factors for vascular cognitive symptoms among first-ever stroke survivors in China through a multicenter cross-sectional study.
