What was your first job as a journalist?

I was an editorial intern for the Grapevine Historical Society in high school.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes! I became a little obsessed with them in middle school and bought one after saving up my Christmas and birthday money. I still have it!

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Adobe Audition, R, Descript, microphones, DocumentCloud

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My piece on The New York Times Best Sellers List for my Reporting with Data class. I had to learn how to use a lot of new tools to make it.

What's your favorite drink?

Dr Pepper

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Reading a book

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I love Texas Monthly. It's great narrative storytelling by Texans for Texans.
