Example of a backdoor submitted to an open source project?
24 To clarify immediately, I'm not interested in writing a backdoor. I have no interest in submitting backdoor changelists to projects myself. I'm researching some source modeling techniques, and we're interested in seeing if exploits or malicious code can be identified. We're using git and subversion histories to examine how a model snapshot captures relationships between the code. There is a question about whether certain types of code appear as outliers in an environment like this.

Women's soccer struggles on the field during hurricane break
The Georgia Southern women’s soccer team could not pull through a win during the class-less Hurricane break last week. tips - As a professional photographer, how can one handle a wedding photographer being rude or demanding in a way that will compromise overall image quality? - Photography Stack Exchange
Recently I was at a wedding (my sister in law's) where the photographer that was officially covering the wedding was rude about me supposedly blocking her second shooter (when I was consciously watching the second shooter the entire time in question and was actively staying out of the way of any shot the shooter attempted.) The primary shooter told me to back off rather rudely and was not willing to listen to my account of what happened and then seemed to actively position themselves opposite...
Is SiteKey a valid defense against Phishing?
SiteKey is not an effective defense against phishing. In principle, it could be helpful for a tiny population of expert users who are very conscientious about examining the image and know how web security works, but those users are rare. However, a mechanism like this really needs to help protect average users, not just computer security experts. And, for typical users, SiteKey is not an effective defense against phishing, for reasons explained below.

HIPAA is aimed at healthcare professionals and staff who have access to patient information. HIPAA certification is a certification designed by private firms accompanied by training and testing. HIPAA certification is not yet officially approved by the government.
How does Tor protect against an attacker just running thousands of nodes?
Does Tor have any protection against an adversary simply running a very large number of nodes? Someone with the necessary resources could just run thousands of relay nodes (including exit nodes). If they were an organization like the NSA, they could also make the major hosting companies running nodes turn over the private keys, or install backdoors, without the "owner" of the node noticing.
Information Security Stack Exchange
I came across SAML and kerberos, both are used to establish identity using assertions (tickets) so is there an overlap in their use ? Can somebody highlight their differences and point which technology is a better fit where. thanks update to add some context, there are some web services in an intranet environment where only a closed set of users should be allowed to access it. Is this requirement better suited for SAML or kerberos
How do I deal with companies that call and ask for personal information?
Several times I get a phone call from a company- my bank, utility companies etc. Many times they are just cold calling me, but once or twice they were calling for legitimate reasons (ie, something to do with my account). The problem is, all these companies ask you to confirm your personal details, like date of birth.
Create a unterminable process in Windows
Contrary to what a lot of people believe, there are actually several ways to do this. Some of them are common, some rarely seen. Some of them are weak, some strong. It all depends on how you do it. Let's go through a collection of them: 1. Pre-NT trick Windows 9x, and other pre-NT operating systems, had an undocumented API in kernel32.dll called , which (as the name suggests) registers the process as a system service.
Why is it hard to prevent scalpers from using bots to buy up lots of concert tickets?
The New York Times recently has an article that talks about how scalpers are using bots to programmatically buy up lots of concert tickets, making it harder for ordinary fans to buy up tickets. For instance, it says that they may buy up more than 60% of tickets to some popular concerts, or up to 200,000 tickets each day (in aggregate). Why is it hard to stop scalpers from buying up lots of tickets?
How can I show that Jesus (pbuh) is not a god to Christian friend using Quran as guidance?
This is how you can prove it to him using the Bible. Jesus is indeed is the son of Mariam and the messenger for "The All". A prophet without sin. Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.” (John 4:26 NKJV) To one that does not understand his ministry this sounds as a statement that Jesus is saying "I am He." "I" meaning "the Man Speaking". However this is not the case. "I" is specified as "who speak to you". So it is the "Words am He".
Is it necessary to setup a firewall in both PC and router?
You have asked two different questions, the one in the title isn't the same in the body of your question. Having a firewall software directly installed on your machine isn't the same as setting up iptables. Is it necessary? No Will it give you an extra layer of security? Yes Having a firewall solution installed on your PC isn't just about blocking bad IPs and closing ports.
Possible for Lync clients to adopt Activesync-style policies?
My compliance manager recently told me that Lync IMs should be treated as e-mail for compliance purposes. This also made me realize that our other email policies (encrypted device, pin required, etc) should also be adopted for this form of communication. Is there any way to get a Lync client (or comparable/compatible 3rd party) to adopt Activesync-style encryption policies?
christianity - Religion and beliefs - Islam Stack Exchange
For the same reason that Jews do not call Jesus God. To a Muslim, the God that Christians believe in as God the Father is the same as the one they believe in, they just believe that the Christians have inaccurate views about the Godhood of Jesus and misunderstandings about the nature of God. To a Christian however, the Islamic deity is not real, but rather a twisted perversion of God by a false prophet, thus, to a Christian, it is not the same.
