Amanda Joan (AJ) McDougall’s Biography

AJ McDougall is a Singapore-born, Australian-American writer and researcher based in New York City. She is currently an undergraduate student there, studying both English Literature and Theatre at Columbia University, mainly because she idolizes Joan Didion, Nora Ephron, and Robin Green.

She writes mainly about winter sports and the entertainment industry, specializing in theatre and television. For her school papers, the Columbia Daily Spectator and the Federalist, she has written investigative features on philanthropy/finance and satirical personal essays, respectively. She has bylines in E! News, the Reno Gazette-Journal, Backstage Magazine, and the Tahoe Quarterly. She has been a research intern at Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and Jujamcyn Theatres.
