Interview
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
Probably the stories where healthcare companies announce a “revolutionary” new idea that people in the industry have quietly been doing for years.
Who do you wish followed you?
Alex Hormozi. I respect how clearly he thinks about business, offers, and value creation.
Why did you become a journalist?
I never really set out to become a journalist. It grew naturally from wanting to highlight important issues in healthcare, bring attention to overlooked stories, and give people better education, context, and resources.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I’m most proud of writing 361 Florida Cell Mafia, which documented the early U.S. stem-cell industry when the field was still emerging and often described through terms like structural cellular tissue products. It captured a unique moment in modern medicine before the industry became what it is today.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Alex Hormozi is probably one of the best. He has a way of making the value so clear that the offer feels obvious rather than sold.
What's your favorite drink?
Water most of the time. If I’m having a drink, Jack Daniel’s and Coke in a short glass.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Medium. I like the mix of business, healthcare, and thought leadership, especially writers like Deepak Chopra. I also read strategy pieces from Boston Consulting Group.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That healthcare business is mostly about medicine. In reality, compliance, staffing, billing, operations, and regulation often determine whether a great clinical idea actually works.
