Why three out of four venture-backed companies fail
The digital revolution has shifted the investor ecosystem and paved a path for easier start-up market entry. Research however by Harvard Business School senior lecturer Shikhar Gosh indicates that as many as 75 per cent of venture-backed companies fail.

The eCommerce market has reached an inflection point. The introduction of Amazon into the Australian market and the proliferation of social selling on Facebook and Instagram has drastically changed the way consumers search for and purchase products. Consumers demand convenience, and retailers are responding with offerings like same day delivery and “buy now, pay later” options, creating serious competition within the market.

How to be a more socially responsible small business
For small to medium enterprises (SMEs), engaging in social responsibilities can become a challenge when resources are limited. Retail spending flat
Australian retail sales fizzled out in July while nationwide home prices fell again in August and a measure of job advertisement eased, suggesting a further dent in consumer confidence and spending. All I’m asking is for a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Unlike the music of the late Aretha Franklin, following the law can be dull and downright frustrating. Near my home, roadworks have been going on for many months and the usual 80km speed limit has been reduced to 60km for what seems an eternity. This reduced speed limit means I need to allow more time when driving to meetings or hearings. And it means cars driving so close to my rear bumper that we’d both be doomed if I stopped unexpectedly.
How Can Millennials Benefit from Working with a Financial Advisor?
It makes sense that Gen Y is a little wary of trusting financial advisors. After all, the term conjures up a mental picture of some stuffy guy in a suit, older than our parents, richer than we’ll ever be, pushing products we don’t need and services that don’t make sense for our financial goals. But this is not what financial planning across the board looks like anymore.
