Alan MacLeod is a journalist and former academic who specilizes in propaganda, fake news, media criticism and Latin America.

His first book, "Bad News From Venezuela: Twenty Years of Fake News and Misreporting" was published in 2017. His latest book, "The Propaganda Model in the Information Age: Still Manufacturing Consent" will be published in 2019.

He is Senior Staff Writer at MintPress News and contributes to media criticism website Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting.
