Kolesnikov, Krasnykh Hit SC Worlds Qualifying On Day 1 In Kazan
Five swimmers hit the World Championship qualifying standards on day 1 of the 2018 Russian SC Nationals in Kazan, including European champions Kliment Kolesnikov and Aleksandr Krasnykh. The qualifying procedures are complicated by the fact that the swimmers competing on the FINA World Cup circuit are absent and will have their results there count towards qualifying for SC Worlds. That includes Vlad Morozov, Anton Chupkov, Kirill Prigoda, Yuliya Efimova and Vitalina Simonova.
World Medalist Aleksandr Krasnykh Absent From Euro Psych Sheets
Two-time LC World Championship medalist Aleksandr Krasnykh of Russia is absent from the psych sheets for the upcoming European Championships in Glasgow. He was expected to compete after qualifying for the Russian team in the 200 and 400 freestyle at their National Championships in April.
Kliment Kolesnikov, Ranomi Kromowidjojo Win Euro SC Top Prizes
Russian teenager Kliment Kolesnikov and Dutch veteran Ranomi Kromowidjojo led the final money tables at the 2017 European Short Course Championships. After 5 days of competition at the Royal Copenhagen Arena, which included 30,000 tickets sold, 2 World Records, 4 European Records, 10 World Junior Records, and 11 Championship Records, the pair each walked away with €20,000 ($23,600) in prize money to lead all competitors.
UROPEI VASCA CORTA COPENHAGEN 2017. KOLESNIKOV E LA RUSSIA SENZA FRENI
CAMPIONATI EUROPEI VASCA CORTA 2017 Acquolina in bocca dopo quanto visto nella prima giornata.
Russia Remains On Top, Hungary Making Medal Table Moves
Russia maintained its lead in the overall medal table, but saw Hungary break out to be the sole 2nd placed nation through 2 days of competition in Copenhagen. Kirill Prigoda took the men’s 200m breaststroke gold for Russia with teammate Mikhail Dorinov snatching up bronze as well. This was after Aleksandr Krasnykh racked up silver in the 200m freestyle event behind a brutally fast performance by winner Danas Raspys of Lithuania.
EUROPEI VASCA CORTA COPENHAGEN 2017.
Kolesnikov Rockets Russia To Top Of Medal Standings In Copenhagen
Russia got off to a roaring start in Copenhagen, in large part courtesy of 17-year-old Kliment Kolesnikov. The teen fired off a new meet, European and World Junior Record en route to victory in the men’s 200m backstroke to set the tone and give his nation its first gold of these championships. He was also an integral part of Russia’s gold medal-winning men’s 4x50m freestyle relay, leading off in a wicked-fast split of 21.24 to score his 2nd World Junior Record of the day.
