Approaches in the Crashworthiness Design One of the challenging problems to be studied in the design phase of the described new architectural solutions for BEVs is the passive safety, with particular reference to the side impact. The side impact is not only the second type of statistical relevance in the road accident data analysis, but it is of top relevance with particular reference to the considered architecture and the concerns about possible damages of the battery pack [22,26].
