Techno-Economic Analysis of Green Hydrogen Production as Maritime Fuel from Wave Energy
1. Introduction Since the dawn of the industrial revolution, there has been an increase in the demand for seaborne trade and transportation, including a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions. As the world is moving away from fossil fuels and encouraging renewable energy projects to reduce carbon footprints, various forms of renewable energy are being explored to replace the existing energy generation facilities.

Environmental Performance of Bulk Carriers Equipped with Synergies of Energy-Saving Technologies and Alternative Fuels
1. Introduction GHG emissions from the shipping industry currently account for nearly 3% of global GHG emissions [1]. Without prompt action, these emissions are projected to increase by up to 130% of the 2008 levels by 2050 [2]. At MEPC80 in July 2023, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) revised the decarbonisation strategy for the shipping industry, with the aim of achieving “net-zero GHG emissions by or around 2050” [3].

The Development of a Transdisciplinary Framework to Overcome Energy Efficiency Barriers in Shipbuilding: A Case Study for an Iranian Shipyard
4.1. Case Study To prove that the framework works, interviews were conducted with five senior managers (DMs) at an Iranian ship repair yard and an offshore infrastructure builder (ISY). The interviewees had five main responsibilities for energy aspects in the shipyard. ISY is an active ship repair yard in Iran and builds many offshore and subsea infrastructures. Figure 3 shows the implementation of the framework for ISY.

Autoignition Control of Fuel and Air Mixtures Using Photochemical Isomerization
Autoignition control of fuel and air mixtures via photochemical isomerization was simulated using chemical kinetic calculations for the ignition of 1,3-cyclohexadiene diluted in n-pentane. The calculations showed that ignition in a homogeneous charge compression ignition engine may be controlled if the fuel is photochemically isomerized using light irradiation prior to the combustion process.
