Saves the Day + Joyce Manor bring Nostalgia, Emo Rock, to Cedar Cultural Center
This article is about seventeen years in the making. In 2002, my brother invited me to a Saves the Day show. Being that I hadn’t seen a live show yet (I was 13), I was a bit nervous and I, being “too cool” lied and told my brother that Saves the Day was lame and I didn’t want to go. It has been seven studio albums, and nearly twenty members later since they toured on “Stay What You Are”. They are currently touring on their new album “9” (named after their ninth studio album).
The Strumbellas Play Packed Fine Line with The Moth and The Flame at Hot, Sold-Out Show.
I was absolutely thrilled to hear that The Moth & The Flame were back on tour opening for The Strumbellas. Both bands are touring on new albums. The Strumbellas are touring on their new album, Rattlesnake. The Moth & The Flame are touring on their new album, Ruthless. Both albums came out earlier this year. The Moth & The Flame by Alex Kohnstamm The crowd was really hyped and ready to go last night at a very sold-out show.
Run River North Shows off New Music at 7th St Entry
Shiny Penny and Run River North power through. Last night at the 7th Street Entry in downtown Minneapolis was a new experience for me. These two bands had to accommodate inconveniences to make the show and both put on a great one, all things considered. Shiny Penny by Alex Kohnstamm Shiny Penny, coming from Kokomo, Indiana (about an 11 hour drive) is touring on some new music they’ve released in the last year, most notably “Love Isn’t Easy“.
VHS Collection: Brings Retrofuturism to Minneapolis
I’ve been having a craving for pop-synth music for a minute now. I recently got into the band GUNSHIP, which uses a lot of 80s inspired sounds in their tracks. Which brings up a great point, how do people hear new music? How did I hear of VHS Collection? On Instagram, they had a sponsored post up and I dug it. Enough said. The WLDLFE – Photo by Alexander Kohnstamm As I arrived, The WLDLFE was well into their set, people were grooving and singing along to their hit “Waterfalls“.
