What was your first job as a journalist?
Working as a freelance writer managing the lead Hip-Hop reviews for The Source bi-monthly print magazine.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Nope.
How is social media changing news?
It's making it more easily consumable.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Kent Brockman. What can I say, he's cleverly witty.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Sharing professional insight on social and popular topics, while doing so practicing journalistic integrity.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
Nothing comes to mind at the moment, there's always something going on via social media.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email is just fine.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
MacBook. Microsoft Word. Photoshop. Social media platforms and tools (IG, Buffer, etc.)

Who do you wish followed you?
Many of the industry's top editors who value solid content and a diligent work ethic.
Why did you become a journalist?
I discovered in my mid-20s that it was my passion, so I decided to apply it towards my interests, primarily men's lifestyle.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope. Explored the journalism field after receiving my first Bacherlor's Degree.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I'm a pop culture connoisseur, so would say it was the Best 90s Gadgets of the '90s for Complex Media.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Practice humility because this is an industry where you're judged by the dues you pay and your come up.

Anytime.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Can't recall, but it's most likely based around some form of experience.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I can't even recall, but the majority come from beats that I don't even tackle.
What's your favorite drink?
Moet Imperial Nectar
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
At the gym, meeting with clients or enjoying some down time in my neighborhood.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
At the moment, toss up between Bleacher Report and GQ.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That since I cover lifestyle, I cover EVERYTHING, which isn't the case most times.
