What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote news and features for Kill Screen.

Phil Sheldon.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

I think of myself as a storyteller helping people to better understand subjects I care about, but my biggest obligation is to tell the truth.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My oral history of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Be persistent. Just start writing wherever you can. Be pleasant to work with, and be dependable. Experiment.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime.

What's your favorite drink?

Iced tea.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Taking my son to the park, going to the movies, or playing a game.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

Probably the amount of work that goes into making a game.
