Alex Ricker-Gilbert’s Biography

Alex Ricker-Gilbert is a graduate of three universities and holds a bachelor of science in kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University. After four years there, he went to West Chester University of Pennsylvania, earning a master's degree in sports management, athletics, and public administration in 2011. Originally from Tolland, Connecticut, Ricker-Gilbert recently graduated from Jacksonville University with an MBA. At Jacksonville, he is the institution's athletics department's senior vice president and director. Ricker-Gilbert first attended Pennsylvania State University in 2005, where he was introduced to kinesiology--the study of the science behind human movement. Kinesiology looks at the various principles and mechanisms of motion in the human body concerning anatomy, biomechanics, neuropsychology, pathology, and physiology.

In 2009 he moved to West Chester University of Pennsylvania to continue his studies in sport management. Its Middle States Commission on Higher Education accreditation provided him with a well-rounded education that enabled him to move on to his next educational endeavor--Jacksonville University--in 2017. At Jacksonville University, his studies covered business administration for three years until 2020. He graduated with an MBA after mastering multiple subjects offered by this private liberal arts university in Jacksonville, Florida. The National Association of Collegiate Athletics has named Ricker-Gilbert Athletics Director of the Year. The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics is a professional organization for university athletic directors. More than 1,600 institutions across North America are members.
