Design Expert Analysis of Tacrolimus Compatibility with Common Excipients
Abstract Objective Tacrolimus is a potent macrolide immunosuppressant widely utilized in solid organ transplantation and the management of autoimmune disorders. The current study aimed to investigate the compatibility of tacrolimus with four commonly used excipients, including sodium croscarmellose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), magnesium stearate, and lactose monohydrate.
A Review of Thyroid Cancer
A Review of Thyroid Cancer To the Editor A recent Review1 discussed exposure to ionizing radiation as a common risk factor for thyroid cancer. However, it is important to consider additional risk factors for thyroid cancer. Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), a class of medications used to treat type 2 diabetes, are frequently prescribed to improve glycemic control and promote weight loss.
Cocrystallization for Improving Anticancer Activity of Drugs
Cocrystallization can change the physicochemical and pharmacokinetic properties of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and improve biological activities. This study focuses on the documented biological activities of APIs in cocrystal form, specifically those with anticancer properties. Additionally, the mechanisms by which these APIs exhibit modified anticancer effects are discussed.
Solid-state characterization of ibuprofen-isonicotinamide cocrystals prepared by electrospraying and solvent evaporation
Therapeutic DeliveryAhead of Print Research Article Abstract Aim: Electrospraying (ELS) was used to prepare micronized ibuprofen-isonicotinamide cocrystal (IBU-INA-ELS) and its properties were compared with the solvent evaporated cocrystal (IBU-INA-SE). Methods: Solid-state characterization of crystalline phase, production yield, particle size, powder flow, wettability, solution mediated phase transformation (SMPT), and dissolution rate were measured.

Aim: Electrospraying (ELS) was used to prepare micronized ibuprofen-isonicotinamide cocrystal (IBU-INA-ELS) and its properties were compared with the solvent evaporated cocrystal (IBU-INA-SE). Methods: Solid-state characterization of crystalline phase, production yield, particle size, powder flow, wettability, solution mediated phase transformation (SMPT), and dissolution rate were measured. Results: The ELS produced phase pure particles of IBU-INA with a size of 1.46 μm and yield of 72.3%.
Analysis of deferiprone in exhaled breath condensate using silver nanoparticle-enhanced terbium fluorescence
Exhaled breath condensate (EBC) has been proposed as an alternative non-invasive biological sample for therapeutic drug monitoring. In this study, a sensitive method for the quantification of deferiprone (DEF) in EBC samples was developed using a silver nanoparticle (AgNP)-enhanced terbium (Tb ) fluorescence method. Fluorescence properties of the Tb –DEF complex were studied in the presence of AgNPs in EBC.
