Interview
How is social media changing news?
It is making it easier for anyone with an opinion to voice it, and allows news to break faster than it would in the years before social media
What does it mean to be a journalist?
My training taught me about the power you have when you have a platform to write
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I spend a lot of my time tweaking things on InDesign.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter is where I spend too much time. But definitely a love/hate relationship.
Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to write. And try and be paid for what I'm good at.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I tried. But I was told I wasn't good enough. An MA in Mag Journalism really showed them there.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Chasing my cats around the house! Or out looking for some countryside.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Over the last two years I've absolutely loved reading Positive News Magazine.
