The year is 1997. You are probably using Lycos or Yahoo as your preferred search engine (Google is yet to exist), and the Internet is on the verge of transforming all areas of marketing forever. Baking soda toothpaste brand Arm & Hammer will run scientific experiments showing the benefits of baking soda at The Apothecary at Wilderness Festival, which kicks off today (3 August). The scientific experiments at Arm & Hammer's The Apothecary will include a volcano-inspired bubbling experiment, a pH testing kit for your saliva, and making your own fizzy salt bath-bombs – all incorporating baking soda and targeting each of the five senses.

Event and London & Partners measure value of experiential in capital
Event has teamed up with London & Partners, the city's official promotional company, to assess the value of experiential to the capital. For the second consecutive year Event has surveyed its agency readers, asking each to submit the total level of brand experience budgets spend that was delivered in the UK between 1 June 2016 and end of May 2017. From this, each agency then extrapolated the budget spend for London alone.
Global: HBO creates Ballers pop-up shop in LA
To mark the new season of HBO's comedy programme Ballers, the brand will open a fashion-focused pop-up store in Los Angeles, California. HBO will celebrate season three of Ballers with a retail pop-up in West Hollywood, which will run from 21-22 July. The half-hour programme, which looks at the lives of former and current football players and features Dwayne Johnson in the lead role, has become HBO's biggest comedy for ten years.
Sony Pictures stages emoji stunt to promote new film
To promote the worldwide release of 'The Emoji Movie', Sony Pictures Animation set the first Guinness World Records title for the largest number of people dressed as emoji faces around the world. The global record was simultaneously set by people dressed as the yellow emoji characters from the movie in London, Sao Paulo, Dublin, Moscow and Dubai.

House Festival, which took place at Marble Hill House on 6 July, featured a Cuban Fiesta-themed activation from Talk Talk. Developed by Undercurrent, the space featured a retro Cuban car photo booth and palm trees.

Fuller's craft lager brand, Frontier, has teamed up with Time Out London as part of a summer campaign, which culminates with a rooftop BBQ event. Fuller’s craft lager brand Frontier has launched a summer campaign that will use Time Out's touchpoints including digital, social, magazine and live events. The campaign leads up to a bespoke rooftop BBQ in September, created by Time Out, which will offer free drinks and restaurant quality food.
Mr Black launches Espresso Martini Fest
Australian coffee liqueur brand Mr Black has teamed up with DrinkUp London to launch the first Espresso Martini Fest, which will take place in London from 10-12 August. Around 50 cocktail bars across London will be offering festival ticketholders their take on the espresso martini for £5 a pour. Bars include Milk & Honey, Jason Atherton's Blind Pig, London Cocktail Club and Shoreditch Grind.
Global: Pepsi Max Vanilla creates pop-up dining experience
To mark the recent launch of Pepsi Max Vanilla, the brand created The Vanilla Kitchen, a three-day pop-up dining experience in Sydney, Australia. Pepsi Max Vanilla, which launched in Australia in February, worked with three top chefs and a mixologist to create a three course menu, paired with cocktails, which was designed to "push the limits of Vanilla".
Three Mobile launches binge-watching hotel experience
From 6-9 July, Three Mobile will run a Bed 'N' Binge retreat in London where guests will pay for their stay by binge watching on their favourite Netflix shows. The Three Mobile Bed 'N' Binge retreat will take place at Osterley Park, a country estate based in Isleworth, west London. Guests will be able to binge on their favourite Netflix shows in suites themed to programmes such as The Crown, Stranger Things and House of Cards.

Krug Champagne launches luxury festival in Hampshire
Krug Festival - Into the Wild is a new luxury music and culinary festival, which will be hosted by the Champagne brand on 29 July at a 19th century heritage site in Hampshire. Argentinian culinary sybarite Francis Mallmann will headline an evening of theatrical, open fire cooking for 300 guests where each dish will be paired with Krug Champagne, including Rosé, Grande Cuvée and Vintage 2002.

Tilda delivers first major brand experience with urban workout
Event spoke to Tilda's Camilla Sheeley at the rice brand's urban workout and food event, which kicked off yesterday at Lumiere London. Tilda is hosting its first Urban Tri:Try event, which runs from 6-8 June and features a combination of HIIT, yoga and nourishing complementary Tilda recipes provided by experts. International Cricket Council creates giant comic strip to launch Champions Trophy
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and HSE Cake have commissioned a series of cricket-themed murals to promote the ICC Champions Trophy in cities around the UK. Accredited Marvel and DC cartoonist, John McCrea, has worked with renowned comic strip writer, Ferg Handley, to create comic strip stories via a series of cricket-themed murals in Birmingham, Cardiff and London at the launch of the 50 over international tournament. Each piece of artwork tells part of a story.

He said: "The alcohol industry has been under scrutiny for years and it has been increasingly trickier to put brand campaigns onto TV, radio and print because of media regulations and rules.

Speaking at Event360 2017, which is taking place at etc venues' County Hall in London today (1 June), Holt discussed the planning and delivery process for ITV Studios House, a two-storey structure which was built for ITV's production company, ITV Studios, for Mipcom, the annual global trade show for entertainment content, last October.
Lucozade launches experiential campaign offering free commuter journeys
Limited edition Lucozade Energy bottles are being distributed at Oxford Circus over four days, which contain a contactless chip to provide commuters with a free trip on London's underground. The sampling, which launched today (30 May), is part of Lucozade Energy’s campaign to help commuters ‘find their flow’. The limited edition bottles will be given out at Oxford Circus until 2 June during rush hour, or 'whoosh hour', as the brand calls it.

Brand experience agency Inkling worked with Bang & Olufsen to create an abstract set installation at Clerkenwell Design Week’s Icon House of Culture at Fabric in Farringdon, which opened on 23 May for three days. This was the first time the brand has sponsored the event. Inkling was approached by Bang & Olufsen in March.
Hot Pickle announces senior appointments
Hot Pickle has promoted four staff members to senior positions within the agency following a number of new client wins. Business director Laura Pace has joined the operating board and Jon Panayi has been promoted to head of production. Liam Moriarty is now head of design and Jonno Stenning has become a senior account director. Co-founder Patrick Hammond said: "All four appointments are richly deserved and testament to their commitment and skill.
