Gender Inequality in Para Hockey
Men, Women, and “Sled.” These are the three options on the USA Hockey website. Though sled, or para ice hockey, is supposed to include both men and women, the photo used to represent the sled category contains only men. Unsurprisingly, women are not represented equally in the sport. Para ice hockey is subject to decades of gender inequality, and little has been done to fight this by USA Hockey itself.
Holding Harvard Accountable: A Call for Reform in Addressing Sexual Misconduct on Campus - Harvard Political Review
Harvard University faces legal action after three women accused tenured Professor John Comaroff of sexual harassment and misconduct between 2017 and 2019. Margaret G. Czerwienski, Lilia M. Kilburn, and Amulya Mandava allege that after they reported Comaroff to Title IX, the University mishandled the situation by failing to investigate the matter for five years properly. The women have been seeking justice through the courts.

I’d like to think that I’ve escaped the brunt of it, but, of course, I have not been able to escape it entirely. Through childhood, adolescence, and now adulthood, sexism infiltrates our existences in various ways.
Checkmarks and Guilt: Identity Crisis in a Box
End of Grade testing in elementary school was the first time I had to fill in a box indicating my race. Growing up my mom reminded me that we were Hispanic — and that I needed to put that down on paper when asked, but I felt weird: I never spoke Spanish at home, my mom did not even know the language, and she did not cook many Spanish or Mexican meals. Sure, my grandmother did when she visited from California or when we visited her, but I felt disconnected from Spanish culture. I felt like a hoax.
