Amanda Coakley is an award-winning journalist with a focus on central and eastern Europe, and a Europe's Futures fellow at the IWM in Vienna. She is a regular contributor to TIME Magazine, Foreign Policy, The Irish Times, and The Independent.
She started her career at CNN International in London and later, Channel 4 News. Her work on the coronavirus pandemic with the programme was awarded ‘Coronavirus Journalism Excellence’ by Press Gazette in July 2020.
Her reporting has earned her the Piazza Grande Religion Journalism Award, an MHP International Affairs Reporting Award, an Emmy nomination, and the One World Media Fellowship. She is a graduate of University College Dublin where she was an Ad Astra Scholar.
Amanda is also a regular speaker and moderator at high-profile conferences including the GLOBSEC's Bratislava Forum and the Belgrade Security Conference.
