That decision will test his government’s long-standing assumption that the economy and the environment go hand in hand.

Guest Column: TMX consultations are moving forward, in the right way
When the Federal Court of Appeal made its ruling on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMX) back in August, I was between meetings with Indigenous communities, having important conversations on that very topic. I was disappointed when I heard the news, but I knew that we were ready to do the hard-work necessary to get this process right. The past few months have been spent doing exactly that, and I am happy to provide an update on the progress we have already made.

Guest Column: Alberta is succeeding and the best is still to come
In a recent column, UCP MLA Prasad Panda argued that the federal government is trying to “stack the deck against Alberta”, against my home province. Nothing could be further from the truth. As an Albertan, and as the minister of natural resources, one of my top priorities is ensuring economic growth that creates middle-class jobs. I am proud to say that we have been succeeding in this area.
Councillor Connection: Amarjeet Sohi: Southeast Edmonton project updates
I wanted to highlight and provide more information about some of the major infrastructure projects in Southeast Edmonton. At the August 28th City Council meeting, Council will get an update on the funding shortfall and the required commitments of the Federal and Provincial Governments. Can a Bus Ticket Prevent Seasonal Hunger?
In many parts of the rural developing world, a lack of jobs for agricultural workers in the months between planting and harvest creates a lean season at a predictable time each year. When An Empty Board Slot Is Dangled Before You, Look Before You Leap
Like Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle in physics, the tools intended to measure governance are often confused with the phenomena of good governance itself. Amarjeet Sohi responds: What is Canada's infrastructure bank for? - Macleans.ca
Our government took office with a commitment to build and rebuild Canadian communities so that they could thrive for generations to come. After a decade of an ad-hoc, inconsistent approach by the previous government, the infrastructure deficit facing our country had grown, and closing it required not just a historic investment but innovation and creativity in how that funding will be delivered. We’ve wasted no time in delivering on our commitments since taking office.
Looking after Alberta jobs and enviroment
By Amarjeet Sohi A new approach. That is what we promised Canadians during the last election. We would work together with our Indigenous partners, those at the other orders of government, and those in the private sector to forge partnerships and achieve market access for our resources. We said environmental protection and economic growth would be the twin pillars of our plan for the country.
Extremism and Islamophobia
Recently, I was invited by the Ahmadiyya Muslim community to speak at an event they put together to memorialize Corporal Cirillo and Warrant Officer Vincent, and to raise awareness about extremism in the wake of the Ottawa shooting. There I shared my thoughts about the Air India bombing, extremism, and the singling out of the Sikh community, and how it impacted me personally. Someone asked me to write and elaborate on those thoughts and their relevancy in light of current events.
