The First Day of Winter
Listen to this article It first arrives as a feeling. I somehow know that the weather has drifted. There is a nip in the air, and the sun seems suddenly tired after all its summer burning. Once fierce and relentless, it now bathes the world in warm, golden light. A gentle breeze surrounds me, urging me to drop everything momentarily and notice that the ephemeral summer has ended. It gently whispers that another phase is on the threshold.
Is Artificial Intelligence really plotting to kill us?
Listen to this article Recently, there was an uproar in the media over the resignation of an artificial intelligence researcher who quit the AI firm Anthropic. He warned that people working on the technology were “frightened” by the speed of its advancement. If we did not slow down, the consequences could quickly become catastrophic. Whether we agree or not, we must all ask ourselves this question: Can we trust AI?
A Better World for Everyone
Just a few decades ago, women could not have careers. Gender discrimination sure was a harsh reality, and the endless household chores left little time for anything else. The tasks were relentless. Fetch water, gather fuel, light a fire, tend to it, cook, wash utensils with ash, scrub clothes, clean soot, and preserve leftovers, to name a few. Studies show that women spent 4 hours or more a day on cooking-related activities alone.
Imagining a Super Intelligent World
Humanity has made great strides into the skies and beyond. We have explored the farthest planets and dived into the deepest oceans. We have studied galaxies as well as matter at the quantum level. Through our efforts, we have uncovered fascinating secrets and developed remarkable inventions. Starting with a struggle for mere survival, we have achieved great success, and our dominance remains unchallenged. This has all been possible because of a superior intellect.

For the Love of Science
The world is more competitive than it has ever been. Workloads for everyone are becoming increasingly impossible. This global wave of over performance expectations is taking a toll on everyone, including kids whose school bags and homework weigh more than their tiny little bodies. While there has always been a score and report card for the students, this trend is now also creeping into the adult world. Adults, like children, are being scored almost on everything.

Such a frantic state leads to feelings of misery and an incessant sense of incompetency
Introducing Snow to First Timers
Snow is inconvenience. It causes power outages and roadblocks, affects interstate traffic and the airways, and causes losses for people on connecting flights. Cars are seen skidding off roads. Delays, damages, and disruptions are ubiquitous. Despite many layers we wear, our toes, fingertips, and noses still turn crimson and cold. There is a risk of snow sliding off roofs onto our heads, or of suddenly slipping and falling! This is a summary of all the things we endure during snowfalls.

They are everywhere, even in our nightmares. You should (or rather shouldn’t) see them after sunset. It is their reign. They run in packs and… Rise of the planet of the dogs
The beginning of a journey or the end of the world?
More than 23 lakh bright-eyed students stepped into the colossal arena of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Their collective anxiety could power a small city. Sadly, only around 10 thousand seats are available. It’s like fitting an ocean into a teacup with nearly 99% of hearts guaranteed to break. Should such an impossible competition really define the students or are we just stewing them in a giant pressure cooker?

Rise of the planet of the dogs
They are everywhere, even in our nightmares. You should (or rather shouldn’t) see them after sunset. It is their reign. They run in packs and cast terrifying shadows under the streetlights. Their sight sends shivers down the spine of us humans, the weaker mortals. Needless to say, that the Gabbar Sighs who scare our toddlers into sleep are the hordes of these canines that howl under the bedroom windows.
The mountains are calling, and I cannot go
Social distancing was not such a bad idea for introverts. The fact that you did not have to meet people too much was a big step towards the re-energization of the soul. But as the days started to pass, the yearning to go out became too great. For the outdoors hold much more than just people; there are trees that have risen from the winter slumber, the flowers that are reborn and the colors that have sprouted everywhere.
