Dear Indian media, You stand for people. You stand for their voices. And, ‘people’ does not mean the majority, nor just our fellow Indian nationals, it should include people from every corner of the world. Each one of us, no matter where in the world we live, we need you. You carry a great responsibility of equipping people with the right knowledge and unbiased information. You guys are the bank of knowledge, we expect research from you and not the shout.
When people trust each other and distrust their politicians, they get a democracy. When people distrust each other and trust their supreme leader you get fascism. The question is how do you express your needs to the people for whom you voted; the people on whom you trusted because of the big promises that they made during the time of elections.
“The media is the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” Malcolm X. The media, being the fourth pillar of democracy has a very big responsibility and liability towards society. It has the power to construct and destroy anyone’s apprehensions and premonitions.
