It was at All3DP. Crazy story how I got that job.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes. My friend had bought a vintage one as a gift for his friend, and for a brief minute, I got to try it out. It had red ink too!

With a good, concise description, and without forcing me to click on links.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Obsidian to jot down anything, and lots of spreadsheets. I've switched to Google Sheets now mostly.
What's your favorite social network?
Favorite as in most used... it will have to be Instagram. But, favorite as in I'm proud of spending time there? None, really.

Why did you become a journalist?
I deeply enjoy writing! Tech journalism is just one form of it, and is the answer to "how do I combine all of my interests into one?"
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No. I did not. Our high school didn't have one!
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I wrote a piece about "data removal" services. But overall, I don't publish anything I'm not proud of! That's the point.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find your niche and write something honest. Even if you're inexperienced in the topic you're writing, that's still a fresh perspective.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Early in the morning, and preferably on a Monday so I get to chew on it over the weekend!
What's the best pitch you ever got?
It was one of our writers who had automated his laundry with artificial intelligence and wanted to write about it. It was quite unique!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I've got plenty so the competition is tough down there. But, one that I remember was for a "AI kitchen scale." It sounded so extra.
What's your favorite drink?
Apple juice. I know. How generic.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Probably at my favorite cafe, or driving around in my old car.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I enjoy reading The Atlantic, occasionally. I also like the reviews on RTINGS, but that's a bit more technical.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I'm not quite sure what my "beat" refers to here. I do make beats on the side though!
