How is social media changing news?

News breaks on social media first, often faster than TV or print. A single tweet or video can go viral worldwide within minutes.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

A storyteller of reality – translating complex events (politics, war, society, culture) into narratives people can understand. A watchdog – questioning authority, exposing injustice, and ensuring transparency in governance and society. A bridge – connecting people with information that affects their lives, whether local issues or global crises. A first responder to truth – often reaching places of conflict, disaster, or turmoil to bring ground realities before the world. An ethical communicator – balancing speed with accuracy, and facts with empathy.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I prefer stories pitched in a way that allows me to tell them with strong engagement. A story should be crafted so that viewers remain hooked from start to finish, with all the key visual elements narrated in a compelling manner.”

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The story I’m most proud of breaking is ‘Operation Sindoor’ — India’s strike on Pakistan after the Pahalgam incident. I was the first journalist in my network, and among the first in India, to break this story. It was a moment of immense professional pride, proving the value of speed, accuracy, and credibility in journalism.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

My lesson for aspiring journalists is clear — if you truly have passion for society and for the craft of journalism, then step in. This field demands commitment, integrity, and hard work. If your goal is only money, you will find better opportunities elsewhere. But if your drive is impact and truth, journalism will give you unmatched purpose.

When's the best time to pitch you?

The best time to pitch me is early in the day, when I can evaluate the story and plan how to develop it for maximum impact. Timely pitches with clear angles and strong visual elements always help me craft stories that keep viewers engaged
