What was your first job as a journalist?

Reporter at Cricinfo, then a start-up cricket website in a country with almost no Internet access.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Only for fun. A portable one.

It's becoming news.

Augustus Haynes. The Wire.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To see. To listen. To taste. To smell. And then tell a story.

Nothing like a one-line email.

Because there's nothing better than writing for a living.
