As physicians caring for patients in Iowa, we are gravely concerned about the Iowa Board of Medicine proposed rule 653-13.17 to administer House File 732, the 6 week abortion ban recently passed in the special session of the Iowa Legislature and temporarily blocked by a district court.

Republicans will say the law has exceptions, but those will not account for all the scenarios we see beyond six weeks of gestation and are meant to intimidate patients and health care providers.
