Enhanced Piezoelectric Performance of PVDF-TrFE Nanofibers through Annealing for Tissue Engineering Applications
Abstract This study investigates bioelectric stimulation's role in tissue regeneration by enhancing the piezoelectric properties of tissue-engineered grafts using annealed poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene) (PVDF-TrFE) scaffolds. Annealing at temperatures of 80°C, 100°C, 120°C, and 140°C was assessed for its impact on material properties and physiological utility.
Climate risk and central counterparty risk management
Andrew Bryan, Fernando Cerezetti, Karl Klasén, Owen Thorpe, Teo Floor, Hardy Wenge, Max Chan and Rafael Plata Climate risk is categorized into two areas: physical risk and transitional effect risk. Climate risk metrics could and should be used to help catch climate risks in the stress testing phase. Future climate risk management by businesses must include the ability to accurately price climate risk.

Performance Characteristics of the Abbott Architect SARS-CoV-2 IgG Assay and Seroprevalence Testing in Idaho
Abstract Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID19), the novel respiratory illness caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is associated with severe morbidity and mortality. The rollout of diagnostic testing in the United States was slow, leading to numerous cases that were not tested for SARS-CoV-2 in February and March 2020, necessitating the use of serological testing to determine past infections.
THA survivorship with highly crosslinked liners was 93% at 15 years among young patients
DALLAS — Data presented at the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Annual Meeting showed total hip arthroplasty performed with a highly crosslinked acetabular liner in patients younger than 50 years of age was associated with Kaplan-Meier overall survivorship of 93% at 15 years when revision due to failure was the endpoint. “The non-highly crosslinked group showed 87% [survivorship]. This was significantly different,” said Andrew J. Bryan, MD, who presented the results.
