Smarter Triage, Sharper Focus: How AI Puts the Right Data in Operators’ Hands
Trends & Industry Issues Every operator monitoring a bank of screens knows the problem. Alerts pile up faster than any person can review them, and most turn out to be nothing: a shadow, a stray cat, a delivery truck idling too long. Somewhere in that pile, though, is the one alert that matters. Finding it before it becomes a missed incident is the real challenge facing security operations today, and it is one that integrators are being asked to solve for nearly every client.

📰 What is RTP in Online Slots, And Why Does It Matter?
14:32 18 Dec Return to player (RTP) describes the long-term percentage of total wagers a slot machine pays back, which gives a measurable baseline for understanding performance. Phil Hellmuth Attacks Shaun Deeb Over Player of the Year Award
It’s hardly unusual for Phil Hellmuth to be opinionated but his attack on Shaun Deeb yesterday was met with fierce criticism. Hellmuth claimed that not only did Deeb have a hand in changing the PoY rules to benefit him, but also claimed most players believed Mike Mizrachi or Benny Glaser should have won the title.
Alex “Pwndidi” Theologis Scoops GGMillion$ SHR for $300k
The first post-WSOP weekly SHR on GGPoker saw numbers restored to normal, some 138 entries at $10k apiece building a $1,380,000 prizepool. The players were chasing five 6-figure scores up top and by the time Tuesday night came around, only eight contenders remained. Leading the way was Theologis with a healthy ?? stack, playing his 55th GGMillion$ SHR which had so far produced three final tables, over $1million in cashes, but as yet no wins.
The 2025 World Series of Poker in Numbers
Nearly one quarter of a million entries graced the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas this summer as GGPoker took over the running of the WSOP for the very first time. The result was a slew of records broken, including almost everything money related. There were 100 bracelet events this year, one up on last year’s 99 gold bracelets awarded, and that produced and extra 17,361 in total entries over last year’s figure.
Shaun Deeb Wins 2025 WSOP Player of the Year Title
The 51-day race for WSOP PoY status lasted until the very last event on the final day. It took cashes worth $4,006,440 across eighteen live bracelet events and six online bracelet events, with five final tables and one gold bracelet to seal the deal. For fans of the game it was a pleasure following the mostly three-way race between Deeb, Martin Kabrhel and Benny Glaser, with the remarkable PPC/Main Event double thrusting Mike Mizrachi into late contention.
The Taxman Takes $9million from Main Event Final Table
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes,” said Benjamin Franklin (allegedly!) and for Michael Mizrachi, the 100,000 $100 bills bearing Franklin’s image he won this week won’t all be his to keep. Every year, Russ Fox of Clayton Financial and Tax of Las Vegas, gives us the breakdown of just how much the winner and his fellow final tablists have to give up to the taxman. For most, it’s an eye-watering sum, with Mizrachi not surprisingly handing over the most of all.
Simon Mattsson Scoops 4th GGMillion$ SHR Title
The Swede, best known for his online endeavours under the pseudonym “C.Darwin2” was among 98 entries to the weekly Super High Roller. The $1,000,000 prizepool promised four 6-figure prizes, with nine contenders making it to Tuesday night’s final table. Among them, two-time winner Dejan Kaladjurdjevic, who has won more than $4million from the weekly $10k SHR alone.
Mike Mizrachi Leads Main Event Final Four in Hunt for $10million

Officials on Thursday say he had been located.
Kenny Hallaert Leads the Pack in Hunt for Main Event Glory
57 hopefuls were reduced to just 24 contenders on day 7 of the 2025 WSOP Main Event, but it was hard to focus on the poker while the Will Kassouf show was claiming centre stage. The 43-year-old Englishman was one of the shortest stacks all day but commanded more attention than any other player, at one point threatened with DQ if he didn’t simply “shut up”. He was eventually escorted off the premises by security after busting to Hallaert, as we will see later.
Daniel Negreanu Accuses Ike Haxton of Main Event Angle Shoot
Schumacher’s open was met by a 3-bet from Haxton, who left a single 5k chip behind. Not realising this ‘chip behind’ detail, Bogarin called in the big blind and when Schumacher re-shoved he went into the tank…as did Haxton! When Bogarin finally folded, out of turn, he still didn’t realise Haxton hadn’t committed his last 5k chip. After 6 minutes in the tank, another player at the table, Yuchen Chen, finally called the clock. As Haxton’s countdown to act reached 4 seconds he called.
Khoi Le Nguyen Stuns Parents with $50k SHR Victory Story
There are always a few ‘unknowns’ in the nosebleed MTTs, rich recs or players taking a shot at higher stakes. Khoi Le Nguyen’s reason for playing was rather different: “I had a look at the numbers on the Vietnamese Hendon Mob chart, and I estimate that if this event has enough registration and I happen to win it, then I might be Vietnamese number one,” he told reporters.
Nick Schulman Inducted into WSOP Poker Hall of Fame
Yesterday evening saw poker pro and commentator Nick Schulman announced as the 64th inductee of the Poker Hall of Fame during the $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold’em. The 40-year-old originally from Manhattan in New York only qualified for the shortlist of nominees for the first time this year. Now his picture will grace the walls of the Las Vegas Horseshoe’s WSOP Hall of Fame Poker Room, along side the likes of Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, Johnny Moss, and Phil Hellmuth.
202 players vie for $10,000,000 Main Event Prize
Day 5 of the Main Event was a tough affair, whittling 522 players down to just 202 hopefuls, with Germany’s Sebastian Schulze leading the way. Damian Salas (2020 champion), Max Neugebauer (2023 WSOP Europe champion) and Alexandros Kolonias (2019 WSOP Europe champion) were all early casualties, meaning 2012 champ Greg Merson is the last remaining winner still in the mix. Busted! It was a brutal day for many players, none more so than Michael Hawker.
Highstakes Tilt Sees Player Bust $50k After Horror Hand
When Motoki Jinno had his hand mucked unfairly, as he saw it, he went on tilt. Among his victims, Jinno KO’d Alex Foxen before self-destructing. Hustler Casino Live co-founder Ryan Feldman shared the bizarre twists and turns of the story on Twitter/X: “Playing the WSOP $50K Japanese guy who doesn’t speak much English gets in a hand where he raises turn on T654 Opponent says all in, dealer says all in, puts all in chip in front of player.
Jinx34 Picks up GGMillion$ SHR and $240k at First Attempt
With the WSOP Main Event in full swing and a big $50k bracelet event about to start, this week’s flagship $10k SHR on GGPoker did well to attract a healthy 111 entries. The prizepool of $1,110,000 would offer four 6-figure prizes up top and by the time Tuesday evening’s final table arrived the remaining nine were guaranteed $33k plus change.
Hellmuth, Negreanu and Tamayo Bust as Main Event Nears Money
A long and eventful day 3 in Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship saw some major talking points last night, not least of which was the exit of a number of huge names. Busted! Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, defending champ Jonathan Tamayo, Doug Polk, Brain Rast and Johnny Chan all exited. Meanwhile, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the casino, English motormouth William “Nine high like a boss” Kassouf appeared to replace fellow horror-show Martin Kabrhel.
Missing Person Plea as Main Event Hopeful Disappears in Vegas
Twenty-six-year-old Yuto Moriyasu arrived in Vegas from Japan at the end of May, with plans to play the Main Event. Moriyasu, however, did not appear in any of the starting flights for this year’s Main Event, nor on the subsequent late registration on days 2abc or 2d. The authorities and his family are now desperately asking people for help as the Japanese national has not been in contact since July 2nd. They plead that “even the smallest detail could be critical in bringing Yuto home safely”.
Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan Advance to Day 3 of Main Event
All eyes are on Event #81: $10,000 WSOP Main Event World Championship and last night saw a slew of former champs battle the masses as 2,681 day 1 survivors were joined by 265 late entrants. Phil Hellmuth got off to a flier on the very first hand, as Murai 4-bet jammed and the Poker Brat eventually called, after being prodded out of his tanking by the clock being called.
Standard of WSOP Dealers Called Out after Bizarre Hand
With tens of thousands of players all desperate to play the WSOP, it’s no easy job catering for them, and that of course includes attracting enough good dealers to service the 100-bracelet summer shindig. Nevertheless, some basic standards need to be met and it seems that we are quite far from achieving that, if recent evidence is anything to go by! Poker vlogger Lexy Gavin-Mather found herself in trouble when her pocket 7s were at risk against pocket 10s.
Selbst Shines as Independence Day comes to the Main Event
The third of four starting flights coincided with Independence Day in the USA but still attracted a healthy 1678 entries.
