What was your first job as a journalist?
Freelance news aggregation. I had to aggregate what other outlets report on a topic into 250 word summaries
How is social media changing news?
Social Media is changing news by making it travel faster.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To convey the truth to the people. To stand for the masses' right to transparency.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
For writing, I use Microsoft Word, and when I am not at my computer I utilize Google Docs. For proofreading, I use Grammarly Premium.
What's your favorite social network?
I prefer Instagram and LinkedIn. I used to like Facebook, but I believe it's outdated now.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The story I am most proud of writing is covering the Israel-UAE Peace Deal.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Read. If you are planning to go into writing Op-Eds and commentary, I cannot stress enough the importance of building your knowledge.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime. Feel free to email me whenever you need me, and I'll reply within twelve hours.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
A sex toy manufacturer pitching a new sex toy and statistics about its usage, which was something I clearly don't cover.
What's your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is Hot Chocolate. My favorite cold drink would be a chocolate milkshake with a generous topping of vanilla ice cream.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
When I am not at a computer, I'm reading my neverending set of books. Being a bibliophile, I buy tons of books more than what I can read.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I have many favorite publications: The Economist, Jerusalem Post, Areo Magazine, Foreign Policy, and Al Jazeera.
