What was your first job as a journalist?

Working as a court reporter out of Thomson Reuters.

Yep.

In every way imaginable.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

April O'Neil. She's a redhead.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

A journalist is honest and puts integrity on a pedestal.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

I really can't answer that.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Through a form that I have already created...

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

The simplest ones.

What's your favorite social network?

Face-to-face interactions. Imagine...

Will Smith.

Why did you become a journalist?

I wanted to tell stories and change stigmas.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Nope.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

An interview I did with Gary Vee in 2018.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Find a mentor that gives a damn.

When's the best time to pitch you?

In the morning ... after I've had a cup of coffee.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

I am still waiting for it.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

One chock-full of typos.

What's your favorite drink?

Iced latte.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Catching up with friends.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Heavy Metal.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?
